DevOps Engineer

Specifically we’re creating a automating the understanding of data at scale. Day-to-day you’ll work with a growing team of data scientists and software engineers to an orchestrate an environment for processing huge amounts of data, shipping production software, and scaling that software as needed. You’ll work with a highly collaborative, highly technical team. You’ll have a huge impact.

Important things in no particular order:

  • We have revenue as well as funding, so as far as startups go, ours is stable.
  • We’re not a venture-backed startup. This isn’t a Redbull-fueled, brogrammer kind of place.
  • We're building applications from scratch and have the ability to build in the most relevant, latest technologies.
  • Ideally you’ll live in Austin, or were just thinking to yourself “I’d sure like to move to Austin!” right before reading this. We’ll make exceptions for the right person.

Requirements:

  • You’re the kind of person who applies for a job even when you don’t meet all the requirements
  • 3+ years in DevOps, cloud-based distributed systems, systems and database administration, data engineering or related field
  • Experience leading a technical team or working autonomously
  • Experience in an Agile project delivery life-cycle
  • Experience with Docker and a swarm/cluster management framework (Kubernetes, MesosOS, etc.)
  • Experience working on software products and data pipelines
  • Strong understanding of architectural requirements and development processes involved in building reliable, robust, scalable data products and pipelines
  • Skills and personality to operate effectively in a very fast-paced, complex business
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data processing technologies and trends
